Brenda Rusnak is the founder of The Best Part blog. The Best Part is a dynamic, interactive website providing meaningful, comprehendible information on how to stay healthy and experience the best part of your life after the age of 50.

Brenda Rusnak began her career in 1982, after graduating from the University of Western Ontario with a BSc In Physical Therapy.   In 1983 she founded the Brenda Rusnak Physiotherapy Clinic, located in Toronto.  After building her practice, with a specialty in geriatric care, Brenda went on to open a company called Active Health Management in 1989.  Brenda Rusnak and her companies, became the first in Canada to deliver preventative physiotherapy services (including Falls Prevention Programs), to senior citizens residing in Nursing Homes. In 1992, she became a first again, enabling third-party insurers and employers to access standardized, high-quality rehabilitation services in large and small communities throughout Canada, by building a national network of independently-owned and operated physiotherapy clinics.   Brenda Rusnak sold both her companies in May 2009 to Centric Health Corporation, where she remains a share-holder and a consultant to Centric Health.

Brenda Rusnak continues to explore new opportunities and is currently involved in a number of projects, at various stages of development.  As the President of The Best Part Inc., Brenda Rusnak is involved in research and investigating new methods and technology in the area of aging.   Her specific interest is not how to prevent aging, but rather how to remain happy and healthy and able to continue to do the things you love to do, well into your 90’s.   In order to achieve this goal, you need to lay the ground work in your early 50’s.

Brenda Rusnak is also a philanthropist and has given generously to a community program called the Cyber-Senior Program. This program recruits high school students to teach senior citizens to use the internet to stay in touch with friends and family.  Brenda credits her daughters for coming up with the idea.  Check out this inspiring YouTube video about the Cyber-Seniors Program.

In her leisure time Brenda Rusnak enjoys photography and recently had a photograph featured in National Geographic. Check out the August 2010 edition, where her photograph was chosen as the Editor’s Choice. She shot the photo while on a Safari with her husband and 5 kids in Tanzania, Africa.
